Not even Florida can escape the icy grip an Arctic air mass has on the U.S.
Millions of Americans are dealing with bone-chilling cold temperatures. Cold temperature records have been broken in several cities and school districts in several states have canceled or delayed the start of classes. Boston hasn’t had a high above 20 degrees in seven straight days. It’s the first time that’s happened in a hundred years.
Before temps warm up late this week, wintry precipitation will fall along the East Coast as early as today. Parts of New England could be buried with snow. Wind chill advisories are in effect for 116 million people. Winter storm warnings extend as far south as northern Florida, southeastern Georgia, and southern Texas, with freezing rain, sleet, and snow expected to fall in the Southeast . Authorities say the frigid weather could be connected to at least eight deaths already.
Power outages have been occurring down South and are likely to happen in the North.
