These days it seems like hotels are constantly adding amenities like robot butlers or high end gym equipment to lure new customers, but is that what folks really are looking for in a hotel? Well, according to a new report the answer is not really. “USA Today” asked their readers to share the amenities what are looking for most in a hotel and a lot of them are really pretty simple.
While it’s safe to assume that most hotels will have wireless Internet these days, most guests wish hotels wouldn’t make you join their loyalty program in order to get it for free. Many travelers would also like to see a lot more outlets, preferably at waist level and next to beds or desks.
And some wishes have nothing to do with technology, with lots of travelers wishing hotels would provide a small fridge rather than a mini-bar that will charge you even if you just touch an item. Others would love a microwave, and better in-room coffee options than those tiny coffeemakers that make one cup at a time.
Other common requests include more mirrors and lights and definately hairdryers. And by far the biggest thing people want in a hotel room is cleanliness. While hotels can offer all the fancy amenities they want, if the room isn’t clean folks won’t be coming back to that hotel ever again.
