In communities near U.S. military bases all across the country — and around the world — a charity group called the Christmas Spirit Foundation is donating Christmas trees to the families of service men and women.
This year, the group will be donating 17,000 trees to 68 bases, including some in Afghanistan, Guam and Puerto Rico.
The Christmas Spirit Foundation, which has been around for 13 years and has delivered over 200,000 trees, continues this holiday tradition as a way to express appreciation for the sacrifices made by members of the military throughout the year.
