If you’re addicted to your cell phone, you don’t have to stress much about cancer risks.
Two new government studies say if there’s any cancer risk from using cellphones, it’s very small. Researchers at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences conducted ten-year studies on rats and mice. One study found a link between high exposure to cellphone radiation and heart tumors in male rats. But there was no increase in cancer in female rats or any mice.
The rats and mice were exposed to radiation nine hours a day for two years, which is more than even heavy cellphone users experience. This is the most extensive study to date.
If you still worry about negative effects use a headset, use your device less, or use speaker mode to keep the phone away from your head.
