A marathon runner in London is now considered a hero after he slowed down at the end of a race to help a struggling runner to reach the finish line.
Matthew Rees was running the London Marathon and was literally on his final mile of the 26.2-mile race when he spotted David Wyeth wobbling with weak legs.
That’s when Matthew slowed down to encourage David to stay on his feet and help David finish the race.
As with other marathons, fans of the London Marathon like to see runners helping each other.
So when Matthew sacrificed his time for a fellow runner, people saluted his effort by calling him an “inspiration,” “selfless,” and “a true hero.”
