In America, Kids Are Even Less Active Than Adults!

There are consequences to not being active and kids are going to be paying for it down the road.

A new study says many teens are getting less exercise than the average adult. Doctor Jennifer Brubaker with Cleveland Clinic Children’s didn’t take part in the study, but says teens should be moving every day to try and avoid developing chronic illness as adults.

Researchers in the study found that on average, 19-year-olds are about as active as sedentary 60-year-olds. The summer study is being supported by federal agencies who see trouble ahead for kids’ health.

And according to the CDC, more than 12-million U.S. children and teens are considered to be obese. Obesity has been linked to several chronic adulthood illnesses like heart disease, stroke, type-2 diabetes and cancer.
