Homeless Man Asks For A Job and Gets Hundreds!

Web developer David Casarez has been homeless for about a year. Living in his van, it got repo’d recently – he’s been sleeping on a park bench ever since. Fast forward to Friday, Casarez began his weekend standing next to a busy road in Mountain View, California. He wasn’t asking for money – but a job. And to prove the point, he stood there in a shirt and tie.

His sign read, “HOMELESS. HUNGRY 4 SUCCESS. TAKE A RESUME.” Long story short? IT WORKED. His story went viral after someone posted snapshot of David on Twitter along with a screen shot of his resume. He’s since received job offers from over 200 companies around the world including Google, Pandora, Bitcoin and a slew of startups.

Now David’s life looks ready to turn around – because someone (in this case, Jasmine Scofield) paid attention and got involved. “I was thinking you know, like this was like my last stop,” says David. “If this didn’t work, I’d go back home and give up on my dream.” Looks like you won’t have to.
