There is one sure way to get a good night’s sleep; have sex.
The popular alarm clock app Sleep Cycle did a survey of its users and 68-percent said sex helps them sleep better. Not only that but 40-percent rank it as the number one way to get some solid “zzz’s.” Reading a book and music round out that top three.
Sleep Cycle stressed this was only a survey and not research, but now the National Sleep Foundation has backed up the conclusion…with science.
Sex makes you sleep better because you release oxytocin, the happy hormone, and reduce Cortisol, the stress hormone. Not only that, but when you wrap things up, your body releases the hormone prolactin which makes you sleepy.
