Could ABC Be Bringing “American Idol” Back?

With Ryan Seacrest now alongside Kelly Ripa on a popular ABC show, one rumor is very believable.

“TMZ” is reporting that ABC is making a play for “American Idol.” Sources at ABC and Fremantle, the company that produces the show, say the network contacted Fremantle last week and made the bid. Apparently, the network wanted to reboot the show for a March 2018 premiere. NBC and Fox had been in a bidding war over the franchise.

The insiders also say Ryan has not been in the discussions…yet.

Only time will tell!
