An 11-year-old girl is dazzling professors by not only holding her own as a full-time college student, but by getting straight A’s. Catalina Lemmon, who is enrolled at Dixie State University in St. George, Utah, is the state’s youngest university student ever. She completed grades one through eight in just four years — and then skipped straight to college. Over the summer, she knocked out a 16-week pre-calculus course in eight weeks — and continues to roll through her studies at the top of her class.
Catalina’s mother, Asia, admits that while Catalina is smart enough to handle the work, she gets anxious because her brain works so fast that she’s always figuring out where she can make mistakes. Asia does her best to encourage Catalina and keep her calm as she takes on these amazing challenges at school.
